I just changed to my winter wheels and tires tonight as it is now snowing in Chicago. The wheels were the original ones, and as far as I know nothing was changed when I put on my rear TSW summer wheels. However, now it seems there is a gap between the inside of the wheel and the axle, its not flush like the front wheels are to the axle or the summer TSW wheels were. I don’t know why this would have happened, I didn’t change anything on the rear.
Now I can basically keep tightening the nuts. I see an inner lip on the axle side, but why would this now be in the way?
I’m confused and begging for some help before I go destroy a few parking lots (;

Are the factory wheels only supposed to be mounted on one side of the car? So, did you switch sides inadvertently?

Is the wheel not seating on the little rusty area shown in the pic?

I also put mine on today here in Joliet. All I can think of is make sure the wheel is fully seated on the hub before tightening the lugs all the way.
Also, you have a Genesis right, is the stick wheel size staggered?

Hub spacer slip out of place?

The tires are directional, and they are placed rotating the correct direction, as they were before.

The TSW rears are 1 or .5 inches wider than stock.
Should I not drive on it if the back of the wheel isn’t flush?

I have no idea man. Do both rears look like they are in the same relative position? If so, could it just be you’re not used to how they look?

Need a better picture for reference.
I dont have a clue what youre talking about.
Wheels go on the hub, axle goes through the hub...
Im lost..

The old wheels might have had a hub centering ring that remained on the hub. Take off wheel and check.

Did a hub centric ring get stuck on the hub from the other wheel?

And I would say don't drive it until you know it's right. I think a ring from the tsw wheel stayed on your hub

Do you use hubcentric rings on the TSW’s? it almost sounds like they may still be on there. The wheel should in fact be flush with the brake disk.

Since the TSW’s are aftermarket wheels the hub is bored way oversize and a plastic ring goes into the wheel hub to center it. When you took the summer wheels off the plastic rings stuck to the axle hub, so you aren’t able to put the OEM wheels flush. I just swapped my winters onto my car and this inevitably happens at least once.
In the picture the guy is holding the hub centric ring. This pops into the back of the wheel and centers the wheel on the cars hub. When you take off the wheel these sometimes get stuck on the car hub instead of staying in the wheel.

They were. Can I reuse these or do I have to buy knew ones, and if so how do know what size?

Reuse them. Unless they are very visibly thrashed or noticeably wobbly inside the wheel.
